Andrea Billard

After having studied in fashion design and production, Sheffield born designer, Andrea Billard rounded her skills by designing a broad spectrum of products before specialising in sports wear. During this time, she also briefly designed and produced an exclusive capsule collection of ladieswear for an independent boutique. In the Autumn of 2006, Andrea felt she needed a new direction and decided to create her own lingerie brand. As she had limited experience of designing lingerie, she embraced the challenge and set about furthering her knowledge. Having spent the next 18 months researching the industry and working on her brand, she finally created two limited edition collections for Christmas 2008 and Valentine’s 2009, as a taster before the launch of the Spring/Summer 2009 collection – ‘Paris’. Each piece is made in England to support British skills and industry. The self-named brand was created first and foremost with the wearer’s pleasure in mind, and mixes strong femininity with subtle sexuality, appealing to those with a love of luxury and innovative designs. “I wanted to create luxury lingerie that appeals to a broad spectrum of tastes and moods; from sensual to provocative, daring to feminine…….lingerie that can be worn behind the bedroom door or flaunted in public.” The limited edition collection, ‘Evangeline’, a sinfully seductive green and black structured bra and knicker set will be available for Christmas 2008. For Spring 2009, the ‘Paris’ collection encapsulates Parisian style and elegance, in classic black and ivory silk. Key pieces include a halter-neck playsuit, a soft but supportive non-wired bra and two-toned boy-shorts. The Valentine’s 2009 range is the opulent ‘Virgin Queen’. The underwired bra and knicker set is made in an elegant ivory flock - the first collection in the ‘Elizabeth’ trilogy.
