Founder, Geri Kefford
How would you describe your style?
I would describe Belle-et-BonBon as chichi and coquettish, sleek and sexy!
Do you have a Muse?
I find inspiration in lots of people who follow their dreams, be it a vet or an artist.
What Fabrics do you use and why?
I use robias, velvet, leather, silk, lace and beautiful chiffon. I love working with all these different fabrics and textures they are so sensual and evocative for the women wearing them.
Travels-where have you been, where would you like to go and why?
I love travelling and discovering new lands and adventures. I had a wonderful experience working as a volunteer in Costa Rica at a big cats rescue and release sanctuary. I love waking up and listening to the dawn chorus and taking in every little detail of the amazing nature that surrounds me.
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
I get inspired by fabric, colour and textures. I love to mix velvet with lace or zigzags with flowers, pom poms and chiffon! For example, to create the unexpected, I can be inspired by films, books, art or my Grandmother's stunning handmade collection of dresses. The 'B' in our logo is from a grosgrain ribbon bracelet with a gold B initial which my Grandfather gave to her. Also named after her is the 'Blanche Miel' Lace Collection SS12. She could make anything out of any material and it would look incredible!!
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
When the season is right, the flower will blossom.
Never wear spots and stripes!
What is your quirkiest habit and how long have you had it?
I order cappuccinos and then only eat the froth like a dessert!
What is your happiest memory?
I have lots of happy memories, completing my first collection and meeting Kelly Isaac (Mc Lounge and Modern Courtesan Founder). Belle-et-BonBon's collaboration with Lascivious. Ice skating every Christmas with my niece and nephew trying not to fall over. Releasing a wildcat or injured bird back into the wild. Getting engaged, flying away for Christmas on Christmas Eve.
